Normandy American Cemetery

The Normandy American Cemetery, located in Colleville-sur-Mer, is a memorial site dedicated to American soldiers who fell during the Second World War, mainly during the Normandy landings and subsequent operations.

This solemn site spans 173 acres and is home to the graves of more than 9,000 American service members, each marked by a white cross or Star of David aligned impeccably facing the Atlantic.

The cemetery also includes a memorial, a chapel, and the “Garden of the Missing”, which honors those whose bodies were never found.

This site, a symbol of sacrifice and peace, offers a moving panorama of Omaha Beach, one of the main landing beaches of June 6, 1944.
